If we expect a challenge we won’t be disappointed. Whenever we decide to do something right there’s resistance. The resistance only serves to make us stronger if we press through the pain and problems. It’s easy to get lax and lazy and miss our appointments. Or other demands on our lives often delay our dreams and cause discouragement. But if we want to win we will have to make a dedicated decision to follow through no matter how long it takes. Change takes time and should be able to last a lifetime. That’s why it’s important to do it by a method we can maintain so that we can develop a lifestyle that we can live with. Because short term change won’t produce long term gains. Little bursts of effort for weeks or months aren’t helpful if you only find yourself back where you started in a year. Roller coaster’s are fun to ride but not to live on and life’s loopty loops will make us sick and tired if we don’t change our track. Trains on the other hand are pretty slow and serene but they’re going somewhere besides just round and round and up and down. We can sleep, eat and live on a train. There are ups and downs and stops and starts but at the end of it all we will actually have something to show for it besides just nausea. So let’s forget about all the get rich quick schemes, dumb diets and instant romances look for something and someone we can actually live with. Because at the end of the year, or years down the road if we can’t maintain our gain is it really increase at all or have we just been taken for a ride?
Heb 6:11-12
11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
NKJV
Heb 6:11-12
11 And now I want each of you to extend that same intensity toward a full-bodied hope, and keep at it till the finish. 12 Don't drag your feet. Be like those who stay the course with committed faith and then get everything promised to them.
