Why? Why!

Why? - The elusive and seemingly often unanswered question. What does why mean and why are we so inclined to ask it? When we’re asking why it’s because we want to know the reason, cause, purpose or motive of something, or at least that’s why we should be asking it. Sometimes we should just cry and forget about why; because it’s one thing to ask “Why?” because we’re seeking knowledge and another to cry “Why!” because we’re disappointed and overwhelmed with emotion. So I don’t have all the answers but I am wondering and asking and the Lord seems to be saying if you really want to know “Why?” then start asking for the right reason. But beware because you might not like what you find out about motive and when you figure out your purpose then you’ll be obligated to fulfill it. So for the next few days I’ll be diving into the realm of “Why?” and you’re welcome to come along if you want to give it a try. And the reason is because the word “why” needs to be put back into its proper context and usage in our lives so we can get some answers. If we misuse “Why!” to whine and cry we may get sympathy but still be ignorant and die. Because God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”(Hos 4:6) But if we will ask because we are prepared to perceive the purpose and accept the answers then we will start getting some true knowledge.

Judg 6:13
13 Gideon said to Him, "O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites."
NKJV

Read the story of Gideon in Judges and see how the Lord responded to this, “Why!”
