NOW Focus!

I’m back in business for myself after four years and working on remembering how to pay all my business taxes in a timely manner. It’s not my strong suit and it causes stress so I’ve avoided it until the eleventh hour and now I have to get it done. So after getting frustrated with things like Quickbooks, IRS instructions, EFTPS being down, UITR forms, etc. I just left it undone last night and now I’m on the last day and tempted to get annoyed and not finish, and then be angry for myself for procrastinating, not finding someone else to do it, failing etc. Not fun, so I’m not going there. So here’s my word for the day.

Find – Follow – Finish! NOW.

Find the instructions, follow them and finish the job. You can do it. Figure it out(pun intended) It’s not that hard(but it seems to be for me) Just believe, remove your pout, get rid of your doubt and do it. Don’t whine or complain or let your mind constrain. Don’t worry, don’t hurry, but just go ONE step at a time. Stay in the NOW and I’ll show you how. I AM NOW, in the NOW and the Author of NOW. Be mindful NOW and focus your attention. Like focusing a lens, looking toward a specific point in time – NOW, makes things clear so you can see where you’re going and what we’re doing. If you try and think about too  many things at once, like everything that you have to do, it clouds your mind and obstructs your vision. So keep your eyes on the road that is directly ahead of you NOW. Don’t try to see the entirety of the road and all the obstacles you will need to overcome along the way, because then you will be distracted and distressed. Thus unfocused and unable to do your best in the NOW, which happens to be where you always live.

It’s difficult for me to focus on doing things that I don’t like to do. How about you? But I can and have done many difficult things. I know that I just need to focus and I can figure it out. I realize that will have to do things that I don’t particularly enjoy. Previously I  tried to make myself like them saying, “If I have to do it I might as well enjoy it.” but it didn’t work and I’ll never enjoy things like doing taxes and installing insulation. But I can do it, and if I must then I might as well focus and get it done as quickly as possible. And that requires me to focus on the task at hand NOW. The enjoyment will come when the job is done and the difficulty has been overcome.

I Am the Now, in the Now and the Author of Now. You need to focus! So stay in the NOW and I’ll show you how.

“NOW it came to pass”

“NOW it happened”

“NOW behold”

“For NOW we live”

2 Cor 6:1-2
6 We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says:

"In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you."

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
NKJV

Eph 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
NKJV

2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Now the just shall live by faith;
NKJV

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
NKJV

24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.
NKJV

Prov 7:24
24 Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth:

NKJV

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
NKJV

1 Peter 1:24-25
24 because

"All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever."

Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
NKJV

1 Peter 2:9-11
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
NKJV

1 Peter 2:25
25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

NKJV

17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
NKJV

NOW! NOW! NOW!
NOW! NOW! NOW!
NOW! NOW!

Embrace this Grace and Keep the Pace

Everything has a space,
and should be in place.
So you’re ready;
to run your race,
and – “just in case.”

“A place for everything and everything in its place.”

"Have a place for every thing, and keep every thing in its proper place,”
Charles Augustus Goodrich

1 Cor 14:40
Let all things be done decently and in order.
NKJV

Ps 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
NKJV

Prov 16:9
A man's heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.
NKJV

1 Cor 9:24-27
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.  25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.  26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
NKJV

Ps 19:5
5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
NKJV

Luke 11:21
21 When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace.
NKJV

Luke 16:10-12
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.  11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?  12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?
NKJV

Luke 12:42-43
42 And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?  43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.
NKJV

Prov 6:6-11
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard!
Consider her ways and be wise,
7 Which, having no captain,
Overseer or ruler,
8 Provides her supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to sleep —
11 So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.
NKJV

Prov 24:27
27 Prepare your outside work,
Make it fit for yourself in the field;
And afterward build your house.
NKJV

Prov 24:30-34
30 I went by the field of the lazy man,
And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;
31 And there it was, all overgrown with thorns;
Its surface was covered with nettles;
Its stone wall was broken down.
32 When I saw it, I considered it well;
I looked on it and received instruction:
33 A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to rest;
34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.
NKJV

Prov 27:23-27
23 Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,
And attend to your herds;
24 For riches are not forever,
Nor does a crown endure to all generations.
25 When the hay is removed, and the tender grass shows itself,
And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in,
26 The lambs will provide your clothing,
And the goats the price of a field;
27 You shall have enough goats' milk for your food,
For the food of your household,
And the nourishment of your maidservants.
NKJV

Prov 22:3
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself,
But the simple pass on and are punished.
NKJV

Luke 12:35-40
35 "Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning;  36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.  37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.  38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.  39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.  40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
NKJV

10 "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
