Heirs of God

Be happy because you’ve made it through another year. In spite of the challenges and the fear you’re still here. God has taken care of you and brought you through. So you can be sure that in the new that He will too, for what He said, He will do.

Listen and heed,
Follow God’s lead,
The Shepherd will feed,
And supply all you need.

God’s Son He did not spare,
But died your lack to bear.
With that what can compare?
Now you’re God’s own heir.

If He gave His only Son,
Will He not also give you all things?
God is your Provider,
The Great King of Kings!

Rom 8:32
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

The Battle is the Lord’s and the Victory is Ours!

A word on resolutions – Get them from God and you’ll be good, if not they will be brought to naught. Don’t “just decide” but take time to “Abide” - in the secret place of prayer and get your resolutions there.

For,
If your plan is by the hand of man it shall not stand.
But if it’s of God, He will decree the victory and bring it forth for all to see.

“…if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it — lest you even be found to fight against God." Acts 5:38-39 NKJV

John 15:5
5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
NKJV

Ps 33:10-11
10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart to all generations.
NKJV

Prov 19:21
21 There are many plans in a man's heart,
Nevertheless the Lord's counsel — that will stand.
NKJV

2 Cor 1:17
17 Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No?
NKJV

1 Cor 9:26-27
26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
NKJV

Isa 46:9-11
9 Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, 'My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,'
11 Calling a bird of prey from the east,
The man who executes My counsel, from a far country.
Indeed I have spoken it;
I will also bring it to pass.
I have purposed it;
I will also do it.
NKJV

Num 23:19
19 "God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Josh 23:14-15
14 "Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

Neh 4:14 -15
14 And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses."
15 And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work.
NKJV

Isa 41:10-12
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

11 "Behold, all those who were incensed against you
Shall be ashamed and disgraced;
They shall be as nothing,
And those who strive with you shall perish.

1 Sam 17:45-47
45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands."
NKJV

2 Chron 32:7-8

And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

1 Cor 15:57-58
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Don’t Sow - Can’t Grow

Don’t expect something for nothing! Faith is a creative force but it takes effort to maintain it. Modern farmers can multiply their harvest using massive equipment. But they must buy it, fuel it, maintain it and take time to use it. The good news for us is that everything we need to succeed in life has already been bought by the blood of Jesus. The promises are given in the form of the Word and the Word is the seed. The seed when planted produces faith and faith maintained produces the promises.

A Christian without faith will do about as well as a farmer without seed. You can go through all the motions but without faith in your heart there is no seed the ground. Or it may be there but it’s activated by speaking like the farmers seed is activated by water. It’s maintained in the mind by meditation and must be protected with persistence. If you take care of it, it will take care of you and if you don’t it won’t, even though it could if you would.

So the “ball is in your court” and the seed is in your barn. You’ve been the creative power of God Himself but if you don’t sow it you can’t grow it. You also have gifts and talents but if you don’t use them they will lie latent and produce nothing. There’s resistance to the Word and also resistance to you giving your God given gifts. So what are you gonna do? Will and you sit around being cheated and defeated and slowly waste away? Or will you rise up everyday and pray and be bold to obey? Will you continue to expect something for nothing as you float adrift or be strong and diligent to believe and give of your God given gifts?

Heb 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
NKJV

Rom 10:17
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
NKJV

Luke 8:11-15
11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.
NKJV

Mark 4:26-29
26 And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."
NKJV

Matt 25:14-19
14 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
NKJV

Matt 25:20-30
20 "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' 21 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.' 23 His lord said to him,'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.'

26 "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 'For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' NKJV

Gal 6:7-10
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
NKJV

2 Cor 9:6-15
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written:

"He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever."

10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
NKJV

1 Tim 4:14a
14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you…
NKJV

2 Tim 1:6a
6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you…
NKJV

1 Peter 4:10-11
10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Be Diligent not Negligent

“Rescue my poor remains from vile neglect.” --Prior.

Love is God’s way to perfect, if you neglect you disrespect, and from His power disconnect. When you ignore His prompting to follow through, you miss your cue, so what can He do? God’s Word neglected leaves you unprotected and open for attacks unsuspected. So to selfishness do not consent, and if you have you must repent. Be diligent not negligent steadfast in faith and don’t relent. To His instructions give the diligence due, and be true, then His Promises you can accrue.

Neglect
1 to ignore or disregard
2 to fail to care for or attend to sufficiently or properly
3 to fail to carry out (an expected or required action) through carelessness or by intention; leave undone
Webster’s

Diligent
1. Prosecuted with careful attention and effort; careful; painstaking; not careless or negligent.

2. Interestedly and perseveringly attentive; steady and earnest in application to a subject or pursuit; assiduous; industrious.
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings. --Prov. xxii. 29.
Syn: Active; assiduous; sedulous; laborious; persevering; attentive; industrious.

Matt 23:23-24
23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. NKJV

Heb 2:1-4
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
NKJV

Prov 4:20-23

Robust

Be strong! Strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Be prepared to fight and stand for what’s right. Meditate on the Word day and night, cast down evil thoughts and walk in the light. Don’t just accept whatever may be, but abide in the Truth that makes you free and declare the decree that God said to thee. God’s Word in you heart and your mind is your sword and your shield, so with your mouth wield till His plan is fulfilled.

Eph 6:10-11
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
NKJV

Josh 1:7-9
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. NKJV

2 Cor 10:3-6
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

22 Receive, I pray you, the law and instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart. [Ps 119:11.]

23 If you return to the Almighty [and submit and humble yourself before Him], you will be built up; if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents,

24 If you lay gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brook [considering them of little worth],

25 And make the Almighty your gold and [the Lord] your precious silver treasure,

26 Then you will have delight in the Almighty, and you will lift up your face to God.

27 You will make your prayer to Him, and He will hear you, and you will pay your vows.

Psalm 91

1 HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

3 For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

5 You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

8 Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, [Ps 91:1,14.]

10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. [Luke 4:10,11; Heb 1:14.]

13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot. [Luke 10:19.]

14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness — trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

NKJV

Rom 8:4-11
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
NKJV

Ps 20:4-5

4 May He grant you according to your heart's desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.
5 We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
NKJV

Ps 20:4-5
4 May he give you the desire of your heart

Ps 20:5
5 When you win, we plan to raise the roof

REJOICE!

YAY! Pick a scripture or two and rejoice!

1 Thess 5:16-18
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
NKJV

Phil 4:4
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
NKJV

1 Peter 1:3-9
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith — the salvation of your souls.
NKJV

John 16:22
22 Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
NKJV

Matt 28:20
I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
NKJV

Luke 10:19-20
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
NKJV

Luke 6:20-23
20 Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:

"Blessed are you poor,
For yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
For you shall be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now,
For you shall laugh.
22 Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man's sake.
23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!
For indeed your reward is great in heaven,
For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
NKJV

Zech 2:10-11
10 "Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," says the Lord.
NKJV

17 The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;

Hab 3:17-18
17 Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,

Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls —
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.
NKJV

Joel 2:21-27
21 Fear not, O land;
Be glad and rejoice,
For the Lord has done marvelous things!
22 Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
For the open pastures are springing up,
And the tree bears its fruit;
The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the Lord your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,
And He will cause the rain to come down for you —
The former rain,
And the latter rain in the first month.

24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat,
And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.

25 "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.

Jer 31:10-14
10 "Hear the word of the Lord, O nations,
And declare it in the isles afar off, and say,
'He who scattered Israel will gather him,
And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.'
11 For the Lord has redeemed Jacob,
And ransomed him from the hand of one stronger than he.
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion,
Streaming to the goodness of the Lord —
For wheat and new wine and oil,
For the young of the flock and the herd;
Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden,
And they shall sorrow no more at all.

13 "Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance,
And the young men and the old, together;
For I will turn their mourning to joy,
Will comfort them,
And make them rejoice rather than sorrow.

And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord."
NKJV

My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,

And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;

We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the Lord;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation."

Great Joy

To the earth the Savior came,
To open heaven did proclaim.
Lived and died to make the way,
And rose again on the third day.
Jesus is Lord! We’ve made the choice,
With great joy we will rejoice!

Matt 2:10
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
NKJV

Luke 2:10-12
0 Then the angel said to them,"Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
NKJV

Matt 28:5-8
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
NKJV

Luke 24:46-53
46 Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high."

50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.
NKJV

Acts 8:4-8
4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.
NKJV

Acts 15:3-4
So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

Impossible?

HA! The barren shall bear, and the lame arise and tread down the enemy. Behold, even the virgin has brought forth the Seed of the Almighty. And His name shall is called “Immanuel” which is “God with us.” And “with God all things are possible." And “with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” And we’re with God!

Hannah, Sarah, and Elizabeth were all barren. Their situation was apparently impossible, but not with God. And if that’s not enough the Seed that blessed everything was borne of a virgin.

Rejoice! For great blessing often comes forth from those who appear to have nothing. If you have God you have everything. He is I AM, and your all in all, and forever faithful when you call. So you can laugh in the midst of your situation, and also at the enemy because God Almighty also lives in thee.

1 Sam 2:1
And Hannah prayed and said:

"My heart rejoices in the Lord;
My horn is exalted in the Lord.
I smile at my enemies,
Because I rejoice in Your salvation
NKJV

1 Sam 2:1

NKJV

Luke 1:13-15
13 But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 1
NKJV

Matt 1:23
23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
NKJV

Luke 1:30-38
30 Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."

34 Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?"

35 And the angel answered and said to her,"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible."

38 Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.
NKJV

Isa 54:1-17
1 "Sing, O barren,
You who have not borne!
Break forth into singing, and cry aloud,
You who have not labored with child!
For more are the children of the desolate
Than the children of the married woman," says the Lord.
2 "Enlarge the place of your tent,
And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;
Do not spare;
Lengthen your cords,
And strengthen your stakes.
3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left,
And your descendants will inherit the nations,
And make the desolate cities inhabited.

4 "Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed;
Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame;
For you will forget the shame of your youth,
And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5 For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
6 For the Lord has called you
Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Like a youthful wife when you were refused,"
Says your God.
7 "For a mere moment I have forsaken you,
But with great mercies I will gather you.
8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,"
Says the Lord, your Redeemer.

9 "For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
So have I sworn
That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10 For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,"
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

11 "O you afflicted one,
Tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems,
And lay your foundations with sapphires.
12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,
Your gates of crystal,
And all your walls of precious stones.
13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
And great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.
15 Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me.
Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.

16 "Behold, I have created the blacksmith
Who blows the coals in the fire,
Who brings forth an instrument for his work;
And I have created the spoiler to destroy.
17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,"
Says the Lord.

2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.

3 The Lord has done great things for us,
And we are glad.

4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord,
As the streams in the South.

5 Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.
6 He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.
NKJV

Heb 11:11-12
11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude — innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 "Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Created to Conquer

You are created to conquer and called to overcome the enemy. You have dominion - power and authority over all evil. “Sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Sin produces death, death desires you. The Devil roams “like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” looking for people who cower, who don’t know their power.

If you will rise and resist the enemy will cease and desist. The Word that you wield is your sword and your shield. But you must declare to protect of impair. If you keep your mouth shut you won’t have a prayer.

It’s by the Word in your heart and your mouth that you smite, and stand strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
NKJV

James 4:6-7
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

"God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble."

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Eph 6:16-18

Rev 19:13-15
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Rev 12:10-11
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Eph 6:10-20
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints — 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

A Word to “Preachers”

The challenge isn’t in getting enough to preach but in getting the people to get what we preach. So we need to ask ourselves, “Just what is it that the Lord wants us to get them to get and how can we help them get it?” - Because if they don’t actually obtain, our preaching’s in vain. So Lord, please help us now, show us how to explain. That they may truly believe, and Your promise receive.

Isa 50:4
4 "The Lord God has given Me
The tongue of the learned,
That I should know how to speak
A word in season to him who is weary.
He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakens My ear
To hear as the learned.

Arise!

When you make the death defying decision to rise up God Himself will help you and nothing will be able to hold you down. Die to self and sin and become alive to God. Let the old man and mentality that holds you down be crucified and done away with so that you can rise up to newness of life. Get rid of your old identity and identify with the Lord raised from the dead. See yourself alive with resurrection power. The same mighty power that God worked in Christ when He raised Him form the dead will also work in you to raise you up with Him “FAR ABOVE all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” The power of the resurrection is effective over death and every other evil circumstance that may try to keep you down. God Almighty Himself who is alive forevermore also abides in you with the power of the resurrection. Make the decision to abide in Him and arise!

Eph 1:19-21
9 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
NKJV

Eph 2:6
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
NKJV

Eph 1:19-20
19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],
AMP

Rom 6:1-11
6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
NKJV

Rom 8:11
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

1 Cor 6:14

Rev 1:17-18
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

VICTORY!

The Word for the day is “VICTORY!”

1 Cor 15:57
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
NKJV

The Bible says that God gives us the VICTORY, and even over death. It doesn’t say that He gives it to us instantly, but it surely does say that He gives the VICTORY. So we can be encouraged and endure and continue to fight because we know that will obtain triumph.

1 Cor 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
NKJV

The only way to lose is by giving up. But even if you’ve given up you can still stir yourself up and get up. And when you make the decision to rise up God Himself will help you up and nothing will be able to hold you down.

2 Cor 2:14-15
14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
NKJV

The word “thanks” in these scriptures is the Greek word “charis” which is also translated “grace” in many other scriptures. God’s grace is accessed through faith and thanks and empowers you to overcome. You don’t have to be strong enough in yourself or able to win by your own resources. But you can believe and receive Gods grace through thanks to triumph.

Zech 4:6-7
6 So he answered and said to me:

"This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,'
Says the Lord of hosts.
7 'Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"
NKJV

2 Cor 12:9-10
9 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
NKJV

2 Cor 9:7-9
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Shield of Faith

Do you have pain, poison stain on your brain, a flaming arrow in your head - do you long to retreat or wish you were dead? Do you feel rejected, dejected, neglected? If you’ve left your mind unprotected, you’re probably infected.

Like flaming arrows, evil and thoughts fly and fill the sky and cast an ominous shadow over the battle. Their blaze seems to consume all your breath from the air, as worry and fear unite with despair. The enemy approaches, your faith to impair, you must resist, or he’ll drag you off to his lair.

Say, “It is written” and declare what God has spoken, for by the Scripture, oppression is broken. God’s Word is the Truth, faith in it your shield, hold it up strong, to deception don’t yield. Cast down all thoughts of affliction, quench the fiery darts, let the Word of the Almighty arise in your heart. Then herald it boldly, say what God’s already said, for this is the way - to guard your head.

“…take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”
Eph 6:16 NIV

Eph 6:16

91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.

Luke 4:1-13
4 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

3 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."

4 But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'"

5 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours."

8 And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"

9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:

'He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,'

11 and,

'In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"

12 And Jesus answered and said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"

1 John 5:4-5
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.

Shrub or Tree

Sometimes you just need something simple. Profound information may be interesting to ponder but what will get you through the challenges is a regular regimen of basic revelation. “You don’t need something new you just need something true.” And you need it daily, your strength to renew. You probably eat the same kinds of foods over and over again. Likewise, you need to “be nourished in the words of faith.” A few particular scriptures can be the staples for your strength. The more you eat and exercise to a particular end, the stronger you become in that area. What area do you need to be stronger in? You need not consider your weaknesses but God’s strength until you become fully convinced of His promises. Daily meditation on God’s Word is the key, because you need to know the Truth, and know it everyday to live free.

The Bible does not say, “the truth will set you free” it says, “you shall KNOW the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It’s possible to have the truth and not be free, because if you don’t know it then you still won’t be, just look around it’s plain to see. You may have good food in the fridge and a membership to the gym but if you don’t use it, it won’t do you any good. You can’t wait until you’re weak and get sand kicked in your face before you try to get strong. Because at the time of the attack, if you’re not already strong you can’t fight back, faith isn’t developed in a day, and so you lack. If you really KNOW the Word you’ll be like a well watered tree, and if not like a dessert shrubbery.

Jer 17:5-8
5 Thus says the Lord:

"Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited.

7 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
NKJV

Ps 1:2-3
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
NKJV

John 15:1-8
15 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
NKJV

Isa 61:1-3
61 "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."
NKJV

John 8:31-32
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Will or Fail

It’s time to get ready for resolutions. At this time of year most people are preoccupied with extra Christmas activities and the potential stress of the season. Then by the time the New Year comes they are tired and not ready to start the next year running. Most people fail at their resolutions simply because they are not really resolute.

It takes time to become brave and to develop determination. If you’re not mentally prepared to persevere then you won’t win. It will take courage and consistency to complete the challenge. You must develop the discipline on the inside before it will make a difference on the outside. Merely wishing and wanting to change is not enough. It’s like wanting to run a marathon, you may have the desire, but you don’t just wake up one day and go do it. You have to exercise in advance because challenges become trials when you fail to train. If true victory is to be attained you will first have to train your brain. “Where there’s a will there’s a way.” But if the will is frail you will fail. Will power is only as potent as a person’s persistence. You can’t excel without endurance. And endurance isn’t developed in a day, but is established over the duration. So decide what you will do, and then be diligent to exercise your mind everyday until your endurance is established. Then when you’re really ready to be resolute, it’s time to run. And not only run but continue to run, and all the way until the year is done. Anyone can start a race running with a will to win, but only those who have prepared and persevere will overcome.

1 Cor 9:24-27
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
NKJV

1 Cor 9:24-27
24 You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. 25 All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally.

26 I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! 27 I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.
MES

2 Tim 4:7-8
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
NKJV

Phil 4:13
3 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Super Friends

Angels are “activated” by the Word of God spoken by believers. If you remember the Super Friends Wonder Twins, they had hidden power but they didn’t manifest until they said, “Wonder Twin Powers Activate!” Likewise angels are activated by the “voice of God’s Word” spoken by believers. They’re always there, waiting for a prayer or scriptural declaration for activation. They are mighty and sent to serve the heirs of salvation. But they will only serve according to God’s will. So when we pray and declare God’s Word we can know that we’ve been heard and that angels are activated and providing supernatural assistance.

On the other hand the enemy and his host are fallen angels. They come to “kill, steal and destroy” and are activated by words of destruction. If you choose to speak evil of yourself then they are there to activate it. They work with wicked words to twist and destroy.

Your mouth is a door to the realm of the supernatural, when you speak the blessing of the Word you open it up to the “Super Friends” and when you speak the words of the world’s curse and open it to up the “Legion of Doom.”

Ps 103:20-21
20 Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
NKJV

Dan 10:12-13
12 Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
NKJV

Heb 1:13-14
13 But to which of the angels has He ever said:

"Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
NKJV

Heb 1:14
14 Are not the angels all ministering spirits (servants) sent out in the service [of God for the assistance] of those who are to inherit salvation?
