Dim or Delight

I don’t like the light in my closet. When you turn it on it gives a little light but then never gets bright. It promises to shine but then ends up inadequate. And it’s not that I don’t like drab light, it’s alright in the right setting. But what I don’t like is a light that’s supposed to be bright acting dim. It’s aggravating because it’s disappointing. When I flip the switch the first gleam gives me hope of good light but it never gets bright and my heart sinks because it’s not right. I think it’s because the nature of the Almighty within me loathes lukewarmness and I perceive that He says to me “Don’t let your light be disappointing!”

If you’re lukewarm it means that you had a chance to be hot and chose not. Don’t begin to be bright but then end up dim, for in mediocrity - the outlook is grim. God offers His Glory, so be filled to the brim, you’re called and created in the image of Him.

Delight in the Light and let it shine bright!

Rev 3:14-16
'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
NKJV

Luke 11:33-36

Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. 36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light."
NKJV

Luke 8:16-18

For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him."

2 Peter 1:19-21
