The Door

Have you ever gone somewhere expecting it to be open and found it closed? It’s frustrating when the door’s locked and you can’t you can’t get in. You spent the time and made the effort to take the trip but it was in vain. Closed doors can be annoying and especially when there’s something inside that you really need. Have you ever seen someone inside and tried knocking only to hear, “sorry we’re closed” or “come back tomorrow” you may implore, “if you could just open the door for a second then I could come in.” But they say, “You’re too late we’re closed.” Most business will not let you in outside of normal business hours and if you can’t make it before they are closed then that’s just too bad for you. Fortunately with most things there’s always tomorrow.

But what if tomorrow never comes? If you were to die today would you find the door to heaven open? Can you imagine dying expecting the door to heaven to be open and then finding it closed? You would try knocking and pleading, “Open up just for a second so I can come in!” but after you die then it’s too late and there is no more time. Your lifetime on earth is “normal business hours” and only during those hours can you open the Door. For your whole life God has been knocking on the door of your heart saying, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” “If you will just open up for a second and receive My Son, then I can come in.” When you open your heart to Him He opens up His heart to you. Then when He’s in your heart your home is in heaven and you’re always welcome in your own home. All you have to do is receive Him “in time.” Because when your body dies, your spirit and soul step will step out into eternity and there will be no more time.

It doesn’t mater how good or bad you’ve been,
There is no way to “earn” your way in.
All you can do is receive Him who is the Way,
And He’s knocking on the door of your heart today.
Will you open up your heart and pray,
And receive Jesus as your Lord today?

When you do,
God will send the Spirit of His Son into your heart,
You’ll become one in spirit, and never part.
And when you enter eternity,
The door to heaven will open unto thee.

John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
NKJV

John 3:5-8
5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
NKJV

Gal 4:6-7
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
NKJV

1 John 3:1

NIV

Rom 10:9-11
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
NKJV

Matt 25:1-13
25 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

6 "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9 But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

11 "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' 12 But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'

13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

NKJV

Acts 14:27-28
27 Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.
NKJV

John 10:1-10
10 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers." 6 Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.

7 Then Jesus said to them again, "Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
NKJV

Rev 3:20
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
NKJV

John 6:37
7 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
NKJV

Rev 4:1
4 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven.
