If we want to be successful and productive then daily we need to be PIE-ing -which is praying, itemizing and exercising. PIEing is like rowing, it’s the steps that we take to get where we’re going. Prayer is simply talking to God and it’s like the food that fuels our future. When we fellowship with Him we receive rest, refreshment and revelation. Peace, comfort and contentment come from the Source not our everyday life situation. Hope happens when we see something good in our future and God always helps us walk out His will. Prayer is like being on a high mountain, it’s the place where we see, but we’ll soon forget if we don’t write down what God showed us will be. We need to make a map so later when were in the woods we know where we’re going. God lifts us up and shows us landmarks from above so we can successfully navigate life’s challenges below.
It doesn’t matter how good the directions are if there’s more than a few steps we’ll probably forget something if we don’t jot it down. We might not know why but every piece is important and if we miss just a step or two we might find ourselves backtracking, lost or dueling disorder. And even with God’s help things still won’t work when they’re out of order. So that’s why we need to itemize, prioritize, strategize, keep the plan before our eyes and not neglect the exercise.
It’s not enough to know what to do you also must do what you know. Exercising is important because it’s doing what you know. God can show you the plan but unless you act it out it’s just like watching an exercise video. You might end up informed but you’re still not helping anyone. Sometimes it seems like we have a few too many over informed and under acting the exercise of God’s will. We shouldn’t just sit around and criticize and tell what we know but we should get up and exercise and show how to go. So don’t get discouraged just trying crying but fulfill God’s will by practicing PIE-ing.
PIE, PIE, PIE your boat,
Go against the flow.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
This is how you go.

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

James 1:22-25
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
