Primitive or Empowered

It’s still dark and the power is out at the house this morning. No power means no light, no coffee and no cooking. Things that could normally be done with ease can now only be done with effort or possibly not at all. I could go out in the snow, gather some sticks, start a fire, cook some coffee and grill some toast, but for now it’s not worth it. I can’t turn on the lights or get online at all. The heat is off and I have a very limited supply of water because the thermostat and well pump are electronic, and if I don’t get some power soon my computer battery will also be dead.

A problem with the power means going from living in comfort and convenience back to manual living, it’s like primitive camping, which can be fun, but not when you’re not predisposed or prepared. Likewise this is what happens in Christianity when you lose you connection with Christ. You can’t do what you were really created to do without supernatural power. You have no light, no energy source and things that should be done with ease can now only be done by effort or not at all. He is the Fire so the heat is off and you’re in danger of becoming lukewarm or even cold. He is also the Living Water and without a connection or way to receive it you’ve got naught. Without faith you can’t pray or get on God’s line at all, and if you don’t get some power soon you batteries will go dead.

Faith is what connects us to God and all the blessings flow through and are operated by faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing God’s Word. So when you maintain your hearing you maintain your faith and therefore maintain your connection. Faith empowers prayer and prayer accesses all of God’s resources. God’s glory is like His power plant and all you need is in it. So you can either tap into it by faith and receive all you need to overcome with power, or fall back into primitive living. That’s why the enemy is always attacking your faith because it’s your supply line. He won’t attack it at the source but just wants to slowly choke it out somewhere along the way.

Lack of supply like lack of air produces desperation. So if you’ve been feeling like you can’t breathe lately, then it’s time to return to the Breath of Life. Breathe Him in, be revived again and by His glory empowered to win. Because as long as your alive you will have the challenges of living, but everything’s always easier with power.

Rom 5:1-3
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
NKJV

Eph 2:8-10
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
NKJV

Phil 4:19
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Eph 3:17-21
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
NKJV

YAY! Now the power is back on and now everything suddenly works again. The disconnection can be subtle but the reconnection can happen in an instant.
