When seeking goals ask the One who knows. You have specific talents and tendencies inherent in your personality. You were created to succeed and there’s grace to win when you find your field. Athletes have different equipment for various venues likewise people are prepared to prosper in diverse arenas. Consider how you were created and what you’re equipped with. You need to know how you are and what you have. If someone six foot eight wants to race horses and someone five foot two wants to play pro basketball there will be a lot of feet dragging and armpit tasting frustration. No matter how much they may desire to be other than they are they never will because that’s not how they were “made.” They haven’t perceived their purpose or exerted their effort in the proper area. It’s like a shy person in sales or a librarian who can’t be quiet. Characteristically you are how you are so find a filed where and are free to “be me.” You can’t change how you were made but you can find where you fit.
Once you know your core take a look at your outfit. What equipment do you have? A football player and a hockey player probably have about the same personality but they still won’t win unless they arrive at the appropriate arena. They all have pads and helmets but can you imagine playing hockey in cleats or football on skates? This is like people who know how they are they just don’t know what they have. Sometimes you can acquire other education or equipment but many times you’ve just gotta go with what you’ve got. It’s your God given gifts that will get you your God given goals. Other goals may be “good” but will amount to nothing if you’re in the wrong arena. So when seeking goals ask the One who knows and do what He shows. You may not understand but just obey His command and He’ll bless the work of your hand. He’s your Creator and your Coach and knows better than you how and what you were made to do!
PIE90 Scripture:
Eph 2:10
10 For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
