Dying to Live

Obedience is better than sacrifice, however many times obedience requires sacrifice. You must put your flesh on the altar to obey. It’s called a “living sacrifice.” Die to self to live to God, alive to live the life He gives.

…"Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.

Dying to Live

Jesus showed us how to live by dying,
Gave His life in self denying,
On the cross in God relying,
Now lives forever death defying.

God’s blood was shed to ransom thee,
Receive His will on bended knee,
Die to self by His decree,
And live His love for all to see.

What He gave He did receive,
And rose again will you believe?
And follow Him and do the same,
And live forever in Jesus name?
