The Life You Live is Your Legacy!

Each day you write a new page in the book of your life as you live it. And there’s is no opportunity for editing but it’s printed “as is.” You can make amends today for yesterday but inevitably you actions are inscribed in the memory of many. You make yourself known by your actions and show what you are by what you do. This is “live” living and you can’t erase it. If you “do wrong” you can get mercy, cleansing and forgiveness from God but you can’t clear the consciousness of the crowd. They will remember you by what you did not by what you did about what you did after you did it. That’s the problem with “doing wrong” the residue it leaves just lasts too long. “Two wrongs don’t make a right” and two rights after a wrong don’t make it right. It is what it is, and that’s how it’s written. At the end “your book” will be bound between the day you were born and the day you died and memories of it inscribed on the hearts and minds of those you leave behind. This is your legacy; it’s what you do and the affect it has on others.

Job 35:6-8
If you sin, how does that affect God?
Even if you sin again and again,
what effect will it have on him?
7 If you are good, is this some great gift to him?
What could you possibly give him?
8 No, your sins affect only people like yourself,
and your good deeds also affect only humans.
NLT

Job 35:6-8
6 If you sin, does that shake the heavens and knock God from his throne? Even if you sin again and again, what effect will it have upon him? 7 Or if you are good, is this some great gift to him? 8 Your sins may hurt another man, or your good deeds may profit him.
TLB

Job 35:6-8
6 If you sin, what difference could that make to God?
No matter how much you sin, will it matter to him?
7 Even if you're good, what would God get out of that?
Do you think he's dependent on your accomplishments?
8 The only ones who care whether you're good or bad
are your family and friends and neighbors.
God's not dependent on your behavior.
MES

Job 35:6-8
6 If you have sinned, how does that affect God? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what have you done to Him?
7 If you are righteous, what do you [by that] give God? Or what does He receive from your hand?
8 Your wickedness touches and affects a man such as you are, and your righteousness is for yourself, one of the human race [but it cannot touch God, Who is above such influence].

Job 35:6-8
If you sin, it does nothing to God;
even if your sins are many, they do nothing to him.
7 If you are good, you give nothing to God;
he receives nothing from your hand.
8 Your evil ways only hurt a man like yourself,
and the good you do only helps other human beings.

Most people seem to think that our “sin” affects God but it really affects us and the people around us not Him. He is above it and wants us to be also so that’s why He came to set us free form our sins. The wrong we do only hurts us and the people around us, but thank God that we don’t have to be “that way.” By God’s grace we can be good and do good and that’s how we leave a legacy and not a wake of destruction. So if you want life to be good then be good; because what you sow you will reap and what you do will surely affect the company you keep.

Prov 20:11

Young people eventually reveal by their actions
if their motives are on the up and up.

I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
NKJV

Ps 34:11-14

Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.
NKJV

And He delights in his way.

Matt 12:33-37
33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
NKJV

Rom 12:21
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
NKJV

Acts 10:38-39
8 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
NKJV

Rom 16:19-20
19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
NKJV

Isa 32:17-18 (Caps. added)
17 The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the EFFECT of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
18 My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation,
In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,
NKJV

So today and everyday - what EFFECT will you have, what memoirs will be written of you on the hearts and minds of others, what “legacies” will you leave?
