Bound to the Ground by a Lie?

The Devil is “a liar and the father of it” but Jesus said that if you will abide in His Word “you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." People often pull part of this scripture out of context and say, “the truth shall set you free” but it’s not true if they are calling true is not “the Truth.” What most people call the truth is merely fact. The truth is the Words spoken by Him who is True. He can not lie because He is faithful forever therefore His Words can not be changed and remain forever True. The Truth is like mathematical law. It’s absolute and can not be changed. You can apply it or deny it but you can not change it. It’s “forever settled in heaven.”

Facts are subject to change but the Truth remains the same. For example it used to be a fact that men couldn’t fly and “they” said that it was true and, “that if God would have wanted man to fly He would have given them wings.” It was accepted as truth by the majority but it wasn’t true because God had already said, “"If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." The facts masquerading as truth kept man bound to the ground until someone decided to believe something different and change it. And they must have believed that they could fly even before they could actually fly or they would have never even tried. And lots of people lied when they said, “you can’t fly” and it’s still the same today. If you buy the lie you won’t even try and will remain in some kind of bondage until you die.

So if the Truth is the absolute of God’s Word then what’s “The Lie” and what’s the main goal of it? In the beginning the serpent came and said that if they would eat of the fruit that “they would be like God.” But it was a lie because they we’re already “like God.” They were created in His image and according to His likeness. But the enemy brought the lie that they had to “do something” to be like God and works religion was born. Because if they had believed they were already like God then they wouldn’t have been able to “do” anything to try to make themselves like God. They exchanged the Truth of God for the lie, and so separated themselves from the God of Truth began to die. Spiritually, they died instantly in the aspect that they were separated from God who is Life. For Truth and lies cannot abide together. The Truth brings life and freedom and the lie brings slavery and death. So the just of the lie is that you have to work and strain and strive and try to survive and to be “like God.” But to do that you have to believe that you’re really not, but if you just keep trying then maybe someday, way, way far away you might come to be.

But just like the Wright Brothers had to believe that they could fly before they ever would fly. You will have to believe that your are already like God before you be able to be like God. As long as you are “trying” to be like God, you are believing that somehow you are not like Him and bound to the ground by a lie. But when you believe in the Truth and receive Jesus as Lord, you became a partaker of the Divine nature. And your Spirit, the core of your being, the real you, is reunited with God and recreated as He originally intended, exactly like Him.
Then when you know that you are like Him than you will actually start to act like Him. (He is Love) And the more you ABIDE in His Word the more you find out about who you are and how you are and the more of the Truth you actually KNOW the more free you will be.

John 8:31-32
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
NKJV

John 8:39-47
Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. 41 You do the deeds of your father."

Then they said to Him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father — God."

42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God." NKJV

And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

NKJV

John 1:16-18
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
NKJV

John 15:1-8
15 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
NKJV

NKJV

Gal 3:1-4

3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
NKJV

Gal 5:7-10
7 You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. 9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
