Heads or Tails

The dog wags its tail and the tail follows the dog wherever it goes.

Deut 28:42-44
The foreigner who lives among you will climb the ladder, higher and higher, while you go deeper and deeper into the hole. 44 He'll lend to you; you won't lend to him. He'll be the head; you'll be the tail.
MES

Borrowing makes us the tail and the “slave of the lender” (prov23:7RSV). If we have much debt we will be obligated to follow the lender wherever they go. Right now many credit card companies are changing their terms and interest rates and there’s nothing we can do about it. If we “belong to them” they’ll wag us however they want to. The whole world seems to be full of fear. And the dog can live without the tail but the tail can’t live without the dog. “But how could I possibly ever live without debt?” How about stop being a tail on the rear of a dog and find a new source. God said He would “supply all our need” (Php 4:13) and the way that He does it is by giving us seed. We’re heirs of God and trust fund babies but it still takes faith and patience to inherit the promises.

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Heb 6:11-12 NKJV

So we either have to choose to be the head and not the tail but we can’t be both. When we decide to follow the plastic god, the tail by default we will be. Or we can choose God and His ways and be faithful and consistent and end up a head ahead.

Deut 28:12-14
12 God will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lend to many nations but you yourself won't have to take out a loan. 13 God will make you the head, not the tail; you'll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog, as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today.
MES

Deut 28:13-14
13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
NKJV

PIE90 Scripture:

Josh 1:8-9
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
NKJV
