New Day

Every day we get to start over. This can be good or bad depending on what we carry forward. Some things we are committed to while others could be removed in an instant. Things like relationships, responsibility, maintenance and the mortgage won’t just “go away.” But things like bitterness, strife, worry, fear, anger and unforgiveness could! These are the things that weigh on us and drain the life out of us. We were created to have relationships and responsibility and these make us feel good and productive. All the normal pressures of life are no problem as long as we have peace. However when if we add in the “stress multipliers” that God set us free from its like trying to run our race with poison in our veins. All things like strife, fear, anger and unforgiveness make us feel bad and it’s just hard to do good when we feel bad. If were not careful we will incorrectly diagnose the source of the stress and be ineffective and frustrated trying to fix the problem. Our commitments are not usually the issue but a lack of commitment to walk in God’s will. God said not to fear or worry but to trust Him. He said that we are to walk in love and forgive and avoid strife and “do not let the sun go down on your wrath.” In other words we shouldn’t be carrying forward the anger, fear and failures of yesterday or yester year. These life leeches tend to multiply and cause dis-ease. Better not allow them to attach themselves at all and if they do get rid of them immediately! Yes, at times we do have the right and reason to be mad, sad and feel bad but it’s not required. If we will go to God and get and give forgiveness and commit to walk in love and receive the lifestyle from above then we will realize that all our other commitments kept are actually a source of fulfillment. The truth is that we have an abundant provision of peace! It’s readily available every moment but if we partake or not is our choice. We can’t have it both ways if we want peace we will have to let all this other “stuff”(spiritual poison) go and grab hold of God.

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
NKJV

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

Phil 3:12-14
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
NKJV

So what are you holding in your heart? Anger, strife, fear, resentment, unforgiveness, etc.? Or the glorious love and grace of the Almighty? Every day is a new day and it’s a choice you will have to make. So it’ll be? One is really sooo much better than the other!

Deut 30:19-20
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days;
NKJV

Deut 30:19-20
19 I call Heaven and Earth to witness against you today: I place before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curse. Choose life so that you and your children will live. 20 And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him. Oh yes, he is life itself, a long life settled on the soil that God

Deut 30:19-20
19 "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make.
