“Got My Mind Set On You”

To get fit for the King in all areas we will need to work on our relationships. We are relying on God’s help to make things work “by grace through faith” just like in every area. A very successful minister said, “If you take care of your relationship with God everything else will take care of itself.” But how do you “take care of it?” The answer reminds me of the George Harrison song- Got My Mind Set On You. Part of it goes like this:

“It's gonna take time
A whole lot of precious time
It's gonna take patience and time, ummm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it, to do it,
To do it right child…”

That’s right, “It's gonna take time!” All relationships feed on time. The more time we spend with God the better we get to know Him. When we pray and spend time with Him everything else around us seems to come to life. He pours out His love into our hearts and His love is what makes all our relationships work right. When we believe it and daily take time to receive it we’ll get so full we’ll rave to relieve it. We will begin to overflow with love for others and then:

1 John 4:12b
…but if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us — perfect love!

MES
1 John 4:12b
…when we love each other God lives in us, and his love within us grows ever stronger.
TLB

1 John 4:12
But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
NLT

1 John 4:12
No man has at any time [yet] seen God. But if we love one another, God abides (lives and remains) in us and His love (that love which is essentially His) is brought to completion (to its full maturity, runs its full course, is perfected) in us!
AMP

Our heart is like a reservoir specially created to receive and give love. When it flows our heart lives and we are happy but if it gets ‘stopped up” at either end we begin to have problems. If we’re pouring out more than we receive or receiving more than we’re pouring out then problems are inevitable. We should always have plenty for everyone and especially when we open our channels of communication every morning when we, “eat PIE.” It’s not enough just to know love but we also yearn to show love to be fulfilled. Love is active and needs an object for its affection. God has made us “His own special treasure” and “the apple of His eye” and lavishes His love on us and pours it out into our hearts. Then it’s perfected in us as we love one another and this takes time. Time and yes also money because “where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” So as you’re working Getting Fit for the King realize that for your relationships to get better you are going to have to schedule time to invest in them.

1 John 4:7-19

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
NKJV

1 John 3:1
3 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
NIV

Rom 5:5
5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
NIV

P.S.

THE PIE90 SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY IS:

2 Cor 12:9-10
9 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
NKJV

Because no matter what you’re going through and dealing with and especially when you think you’re to weak to make it you’re not because you can overcome by the power of God’s grace!
