Hot Pizza or Cold Cat Food?

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good.” Isa 7:14-15 NKJV

Our happiness can be greatly increased simply by being disciplined to refuse the bad thoughts and choose the good ones. There’s a lot of “stuff” floating around out there to worry about but Jesus said not to. (Mt 6:25-34) Evil thoughts are like worms on hooks and if you take the bait your mind will soon be running away with you. But there’re also plenty of good things to think about and you constantly get to choose. If you refuse the evil and chose the good life will seem good and if you choose the evil than life will seem bad. It’s the same life but the difference in how you think about it. Many things you can’t change but you can control how you think. So I say why torment yourself? If you have a choice between eating hot pizza or old slimy cold canned cat food which one will you choose? Many thoughts will be placed before you today so what will you “eat”? Some things just give you a stress stomach ache so don’t partake. God’s got the good stuff so think like Him and, “…taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Ps 34:8

2 Cor 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. NKJV

Rom 8:5-7
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
NKJV

Rom 12:21
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
NKJV

Rom 16:19-20
19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
NKJV

Col 3:1-3
3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
NKJV

Col 3:2
2 Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ — that's where the action is. See things from his perspective.
