Cry

What do you do when your guts are a taunt coil,
When your hearts a lead balloon, sinking and spoiled,
When the smallest of thoughts cause vexation and toil,
When your ability to overcome seems broken and boiled?

Cry out to God, help’s the next breath away,
His goodness is greater than all your dismay.
He promised to answer when you simply pray.
How many times - maybe hundreds a day.

It seems such an effort, but it’s better than stress.
Either think on His promises or distress and obsess.
When all of your circumstances are a hot iron press,
God’s Word is cool water and the source of success.

So call out to God or cry in your pain,
The first is your peace the next is your bane.
Dwell in your misery and go insane,
Or cry out to God and over pain reign.

Ps 40:1-3
40 I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth —
Praise to our God;
