Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

Ex 14:13-14
13 And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."
NKJV

Ex 14:14
4 God will fight the battle for you.
And you? You keep your mouths shut!"
MES

If you hold your tongue you will keep your peace. When you’re right you don’t have to defend and offend. Even if you were right you became wrong if you had to hurt someone to prove your point. And when you’re wrong it’s better to keep your mouth shut and conceal your ignorance. We’ve all said things that have cost us, many times much more than it was worth. It’s better to wish you had said something, than to say things that you wish you had never said. Your words can be like arrows and once you let them go you can’t “take em back” so you ought not just shoot our mouth off at random. Win arguments by wounding people and soon your friends will be in short supply. No one wants unsought advice and especially not unsolicited correction. If your words are good and valuable then eventually people will ask for them and if not then you should keep them to yourself. So I think I should shut up now.

Ps 34:12-14

Seek peace and pursue it.

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
